Leonardo Daniel Ploper is an Agricultural Engineer (Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, 1974) and did his graduate studies (M.Sc. and Ph.D. between 1982 and 1987) at Purdue University, Indiana, U.S.A. He also did Postdoctoral Research at Auburn University, Alabama, U.S.A. (1990-1992). Since 1975 he has been a researcher at the Phytopathology Section of the Obispo Colombres Agroindustrial Experimental Station (EEAOC) where he studies the diagnosis and cultural, chemical and biological control of diseases of various crops. Since 2004, he has been the Technical Director of this institution. He is also a Senior Researcher at CONICET, and Director and Professor of postgraduate courses at the Faculty of Agronomy and Animal Husbandry, National University of Tucumán. He is also a Corresponding Academician of the National Academy of Agronomy and Veterinary Science.
